Elixir of Affection
Elixir of Affection (10/18/2007)
It’s sad to witness and watch her affliction
An addiction to affection, too caught up to listen
No admission is honest, she lies in her diction
Says that she gets it, but blind in her vision
The symptoms are telling, the world keeps her beaten
Selling her soul to the one’s who keep leaving
The world is deceitful when it comes to desire
So she plays the fool and they all play the liar
They aspire to reach up and vanish inside her
Take a small piece away with their pride to inspire
Anger can’t hide her when she swears to the ceiling
She’s dead on her back with the tear that she’s feeling
They don’t care, they keep stealing and knocking her over
Back to the door with her hair on her shoulder
Crying out loud where nobody can hear her
Anger and fear are the forces that steer her
They’re on her and near her, breaking her essence
This search for affection gets mixed up in messes
She thinks that she loves him, she wonders and guesses
Hope clouds the truth and she misses the message
She misses the lessons, doesn’t notice their motives
Her search for love leaves her so prone and open
And the mention or notion of sitting with lonesome
Sends her back to the world of the lying word potions
Drugs for the weak and elixirs for caring
A drop hits her lips and she drinks without sharing
Scars for a moment and blood for affection
They’re breaking her down and she stands there and lets them

Great stuff, as usual.
