Times Like These
Times Like These (5/4/2007)
It’s times like these where I stop to think
About time I’ve lost and those types of things
I play the riddle of life with strings
Just tie me up til I start to sing
Cause I’ve lost my rhyme, I’ve lost my way
I can not find what I want to say
I’ll break the rhythm, I’ll stop my stride
Just put me down for a piece of mind
In times like these, it’s nice to write
And pour it out til I find what’s right
But I sit here with my doubts in mind
I’m tensing up as I walk the line
So stop your words and stop your hands
I can not think or understand
If this is life then what’s the use
Just knot me up in these writing shoes
And drop the noose and flood your mind
With a little beat and a little rhyme
Then feel it tap on the walls inside
Now let it out, then more in time
I have no words or track to follow
I’m spitting thoughts from veins so hollow
I feel the beat and the pulse of it
It’s time I get the most from it
Just write for writing, write it out
Go find a beat and then rhyme it out
So stop the fighting, I’m sick of it
Too many words in the thick of it
I should have said, you should have too
I should have, could have, would have too
But nothing’s simple, nothing’s right
There is no hope in drawing lines
Until you cross them, when lines shatter
No rhyme or reason really matter
Just write it down and rhyme it out
It’s times like these when I find it out
I love my words, I missed the time
It’s times like these, the closing line
Notes: This is one just for the sake of writing and, honestly, I loved writing it. It’s a simple beat. Just clapped our hands 4 times in rhythm within a second and a half. Yes, it’s fast but that’s the way it’s written. It’s me talking a lot about nothing. I love it, though.

“But nothing’s simple, nothing’s right” dude, that doesn’t rhyme with anything =P
“I have no words or track to follow
I’m spitting thoughts from veins so hollow
I feel the beat and the pulse of it
It’s time I get the most from it”
