Tale of the Tooth Continues
If you can remember back a few months, I had a root canal done on the bottom right tooth right next to my wisdom. At the time, the dentist only put a temporary filling in because he said I should get the wisdom pulled. Well, the filling finally fell out, so I went to a different dentist to try to get a permanent one. No go. He said I have to get the wisdom tooth pulled and get a crown on the one I had the root canal done on.
This poses a big problem for me. It’s going to be expensive. I’m estimating between $1500 - $2500 just to get everything over with. I’m probably going to have to borrow cash from my dad and pay him back over time. That should be amazingly fun.
So where do I go from here? As soon as I get my schedule for next week, I plan on calling up the oral surgeon to set up a consultation. After that, I’ll schedule the surgery and go with it. This guy uses a pill to sedate his patients instead of nitrous oxide. I’m a little nervous about that, but thinking about the cost of this all tends to preoccupy my mind well enough. I’m hoping he can, perhaps, pull the tooth and fit the other one for a cap at the same time.
Wish me luck guys and girls. I’m freaking out about this and really want to get it over with as soon as possible. My work schedule and the need to go buy a suit this weekend for my cousin’s wedding are simply making it difficult to squeeze everything in.
