A Few Random Thoughts
I haven’t written a general journal entry in a while. I have some time before we start recording the podcast, so I figured I’d use it wisely.
Things are still a little weird without Prancer. You just get into a routine that you don’t even realize until it’s broken. For instance, almost every morning, I’d wake up and he’d be locked in my room as my mom did the morning cleaning and such. He’d always lie next to my legs and I’d bitch at him for taking so much space lol. Then coming home from work, I’d open the door to my room to see him there and I’d ask him how he’s doing. Now the lights aren’t even on anymore. It’s just weird, you know?
The weather has completely sucked lately. With summer ending, I want to get a few more baseball catches in before it gets too cold again. Well, this none stop drizzling is ruining things. Man, I hate when summer ends, though. Winter in NYC is so gray and depressing. Usually by February, I’m a miserable mess. It’s odd how the weather can affects a person’s mood so easily, but damn does it wear on me.
One good thing about summer ending, though, is the fact that all the kiddies go back to school. Hopefully, this will ease up things on Neowin a bit. Yesterday alone, I had some asshat go nuts because he didn’t like staff action on the site (when he was clearly wrong). He spent the whole evening spamming my site (until I blocked his IP) and bothering me on multiple screen names on Yahoo. Apparently, he’s going to kill me. I’ll keep you updated on my living status lol.
Now for some quick product reviews:
I finally got myself a new razor. I picked up the Norelco 8140xl after deciding it would be a better investment than buying new blades for my old razor. The first shave was a little rough and actually concerned me, but a few shaves in and I am experiencing the closest, most irritation free shaves ever. The triple bladed heads cut down the amount of time spent shaving in half and do a much better job than my 7140 ever did. The unit itself is very light weight, though the plastic feels a little cheap. Cleaning it is a snap: You just open the head and rinse it with warm water. My only complaint is the lack of a low battery indicator. They seem to use this as a reason to buy the more expensive models, but I just couldn’t justify it. It’s annoying, but using their razors since I started shaving, I know what a low battery sounds like in terms of the motor. If you’re looking for a good electric shave, definitely check this one out.
The latest Breaking Benjamin album, “Phobia”, was also released recently. It’s very solid. I’m not going to claim it’s one of my favorites ever, but it is definitely a good compilation from beginning to end. If you like the band or the genre, give it a listen and see what you think.
That rambling made me feel a bit better. Thanks for reading boys and girls.
